City Ecology

Nowadays the environment needs care and regeneration, because human future depends upon it. Clean air, high grade water for drinking, full parks and lakes require tending. We conduct analysis of current situation and define strategy that will allow avoiding further deterioration of ecologic situation.

If you look at the city from above it will look as if buried in verdure. General area covered by trees makes up one third of the city territory. Parks, squares, boulevards cover 296 hectares (731,43 acres), thus constituting 9,1 m2 per citizen. But this is not enough for a city in the steppe.

Both new parks are laid out and old ones are reconstructed.

Much attention is paid to forming purifying facilities. To protect the environment the enterprises are limited in their using natural resources, releasing polluting substances, deploying waste product. The enterprises pay the foreseen tallage for using natural resources and polluting the environment.

As for the atmospheric polluting, Kherson has got more favorable conditions compared to other Ukrainian regions. Gross emissions of polluting substances are less than in other cities with moderately developed industry.
